NMSC-1-6b-7a “Military Cloning Initiative”
RE: MTAL Cloning Initiative
I believe that the premise is sound. I think the idea of using the technology for improvement among the ranks is a good one, but I question our ability to provide that service to existing personnel.
If we made the process widespread, we would essentially be creating two tiers of service personnel and I think that we need to consider the ramifications of that when we are deciding what to do.
I agree more with F. Cmdr Genain’s idea that we run a pilot program before doing anything widespread, especially given the hypothesis posed by Dr. Sinter’s team at the recent conference in their paper(@ SRC-16A-2243)
The 16A-BL4 Nano-machine they demonstrated has the potential to do what we need if we start with embryonic manipulation. The low error rate on copy they demonstrated is better than the natural genetic copy mechanism by a decent margin. Of course we will probably have to verify what they were doing actually results in the success they are claiming.
I am very interested in what Dr. Sinter was doing with hybridization and I think we need to keep a very close eye on that. It has interesting implications for MTALRES in my opinion
